Hi everyone,
I'm going to be in Munich for about four days before I travel to Austria for a music festival, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions what to do, see, where to stay, or anything else. Thanks!
Nick

Unfortunately I have never been to Munich, so I am no real help. I'll try anyway. ^_^;;

So, there is a really, really, really long article on Wikipedia which basically lists all sights to see. It kinda depends on what you want to see. From old churches to Shoping malls you can find everything you wish. Maybe there is going to be an interesting tradefair when you're around. Or maybe you can find an interesting theater play. I even guess that there are some cinemas showing movies with original Englisch audio...

I guess it mainly depends on what you want to do.

Hi Nick:
There are lots of friendly, clean, comfortable and relatively inexpensive hotels in the area around the fairgrounds (as long as you don't go during Octoberfest) that are only a few quick metro stops from the city center.

I like to take self-guided walking tours using downloads for my iPod whenever I can.
Check one out here...http://trekexchange.com/tours/90

If you have the time, I would highly recommend a side trip to Garmich. You will spend a full day getting there & back by train. But, you will be at the foot of the highest mountains in Bavaria and the scenery in spectacular.

Enjoy! :wink:

Has anybody ever been to the Octoberfest? I always wanted to go but could never find the time or somebody who would make the trip with me.
The world is a book and who doesn't travel reads only a page.
