Is it wrong to write Du bist heute dran zu Kochen, nicht?

I don't understand the use of "mit dem kochen " Cann't I use zu Kochen instead?

"mit etwas dran sein" / "mit etwas an der Reihe sein" are common phrases in German. Both are used with "mit" even though some people might use "zu" in spoken language.
In both phrases the substantive form of the verb is needed: "das Kochen" is the substantive form of the verb "kochen".
