HideHi Andrew,
Thank you for posting. 👍
While you have a valid point when you say that articles used
in lessons should ideally be timely, the team was also trying to cover
some vocab that might, due to Covid, not be in the public's eye so much and discussed
quite as hotly.
I will all the same forward your comment to our team. It is important not to forget
that students are most motivated if they can personally relate to the lesson content.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. 😉
Kind regards,
Reinhard

1) Like the idea of incorporating lessons from newspaper articles. But this is from 15 years ago... I feel this decreases the relevance. eg. in a previous audioblog where the economic downturn was being described. But not from the 2020 Covid pandemic, rather from the 2008 financial crisis. I suggest these lessons would benefit from updating.
2) "Langzeitstudenten" - had to do a bit of a search to figure out what the context of this term is. According to Wikipedia it refers to "The term long-term student refers to students who have been enrolled at universities for an exceptionally long time. It is a slang term without a clear definition of the length of study from which one is a long-term student." Bi-product of heavily subsidized post secondary education? My north american perspective.

thanks for the lesson
my favorite is Derzeit werden in einigen Bundesländern Studiengebühren erhoben, teilweise grundsätzlich, teilweise unter bestimmten Bedingungen, beispielsweise für Langzeitstudenten in Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen
