Gehen versus fahren

In the Survival series lesson 20, fahren is defined as traveling as a passenger or to drive and in most of the travel lessons, fahren is used as the verb. In lesson 26 which is travel by taxi, gehen is used instead of fahren. I don't remember the lesson where I saw that the definition of gehen, but I remember that as being defined as to travel by foot. Am I misinterpreting the sentence or misunderstanding the definition of the verbs?

In this case it means the person wants to go to the TV tower so "gehen" is used. He could also say "Ich möchte mit dem Taxi zum Fernsehturm fahren." (I want to go to the TV tower by taxi.) in which case you would have to use "fahren" as it refers to going by taxi.
