Berlitz Advanced German (new)

Postby bauchweh » January 9th, 2010 4:24 am

Hi,
I found the Berlitz advanced German interesting until I saw it only had 3 cd's. I went to this page http://www.berlitzpublishing.com/berlit ... ontent.asp and you can download the transcripts of what the 3 cd's contain (German & the English translation) and when I found that is all that is on the 3 cd's I did not waste my money. The free transcripts are nice, though.

Speaking of Berlitz...
I got the Berlitz German verb handbook recently (as a gift)
I started reading it, but found it to be a bit challenging for my level of German. At a beginner's level, it is sort of overwhelming, yet not enough explanation. It just gives a general description of the function of verbs with some examples. I think that one has to have a substantial amount of background knowledge to understand the book clearly. Or, maybe it is my lack of experience with the German sentence structure in order to fully understand the verbs system. I am not sure but will keep trying. :?
