The first time I went out with a German girl I didn’t imagine how awkward would it be to invite the girl for a dinner and go out to dance. So I used my usual skills to get a girl from my home town. I’m from Latin America, so I really didn’t think it would be so different from us… Big mistake. When we first met, I kissed her cheek to greet her, obviously she freaked out. To make it shorter, the date was a mess. Finally, I found Germanpod101, it was incredible how many things I could learned if I would’ve chose this method before. All those details of German culture are given in the lessons and for sure, I would’ve get that girl if I chose Germanpod101 in the past.

I enjoy learning foreign languages and came across your GermanPod101.com site and tried it out. I really like it and find it almost addictive. Each night I do a couple lessons before going to bed. Only knew a couple words a few months ago and now after a couple months I now have quite a vocabulary and can now read basic German. You have a great way of learning how to spell German words.

Thank God there is “Top25 German Questions you should know” and the Survival Phrases Series, they’re such a blast for me and for all the learners fond of the German language and culture !
All in all, I insist on emphasizing once more the huge impact GermanPod101 had and still has on me, on my professional knowledge (lately I have enrolled on a “Deutsch für den Beruf” course and I enjoy it in the real sense of the word.

GermanPod101 has been absolutely INVALUABLE during my 5 years years in Germany. Living and working among Americans in a military community, the opportunity to learn and practice German is limited for a civilian mom like myself. I’ve downloaded countless podcasts to my iPod and listen to them EVERYWHERE. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY and has enabled me to understand and communicate far more than I ever could have otherwise. I find the cultural insights are “right on the money” and they have enabled me to understand and appreciate more about my host nation customs. The format of dialogue, repetition, translation works very well and the grammar points with emphasis vocabulary and phrase usage are extremely helpful. Listening to Chuck and Judith is always great fun too! When I hear Chuck speak German with a good old American “accent,” I don’t feel so bad about my own pronunciation! In summary, GermanPod101 has been a lifesaver while here in Germany and has enabled me to feel more comfortable and enjoy my experience here. I have recommended the site to many friends and even to students I work with in both Middle and High School! Keep up the great work and thank you!

GermanPod101 has really helped me a lot in increasing my vocabulary as each day I learn a word and how to use it in a sentence. I go to my work and keep repeating it to myself and even use it with friends and when I have time. I listen to old lessons to review as well. The word of the day email lets me keeps me updated and keeps my mind fresh. To sum up, slowly but surely, it works. I thank Allah and the members of this site from my heart. It makes a difference to me while I’m in Germany.

Hello, I started to study the German Language a few days ago through GermanPod101.
I’m an Absolute Beginner and I find the platform useful and easy. The lesson structure is clear and there are multiple choices of attractive type of exercises; dialogue, audio or video, vocabulary and so on.

I really enjoy spending time on GermanPod101. You have done a nice work for the Intermediate lessons. Listening to the German songs’ lyrics helped me to improve my vocabulary and at the same time to familiarize with songs that are so well known in Germany. Nena’s song “Luftballons” and “Verschwende dein Zeit”-Silbermond are my favorite ones. Moreover the lessons with the basic directions and German supermarkets are efficacious. I’ve already been twice in Germany, so I tested it😄

I find GermanPod101 to be the most helpful thing I can find on the web to learn German. It has many ways to teach and actually gets into the culture as well as teaching the language, not just one way or the other.

I have tried to learn German several different ways. From classrooms to private instruction to computer and internet courses. All of these methods have lacked in many areas. GermanPod101 is a great solution. It offers so many different ways to learn. And I can go at my own pace and study on my own. I really like the variety of tools to learn, which are lacking from most of the other methods I’ve tried. Already I have learned more in a week than I had learned in a few months from other courses. Thanks GermanPod101.

GermanPod101 is an approach that makes you interested in culture first, rises your appetite for part of the german language that you will want to research further after, find other songs etc. I think it’s a great resource for intermediates, and the guy in the audio makes you feel you’re on the same page

Ahhhhh, so that’s how you say that in German! That’s what I hear myself saying all the time in the 3 weeks I’ve been using GermanPod101 online lessons. I’ve attended evening classes at a very well known German language school for over 2 years. I probably already know 2000 words and dozens of grammar rules, but there’s always been something missing. With GermanPod101, at last I’ve found the final link in the chain to bring my German to life and give me the confidence to use it. Keep up the good work guys, I’m committed!

Living in Germany for the first time over the past year and a half, I have gathered alot of information that was presented in GermanPod’s 1 & 2, all what was mentioned is right on. In comparison to Rosetta Stone this package of material breaks down the learning while Rosetta just rushes you through the material. But combining the two will give you a powerful set of learning aides. They now have a new customer. I’m sold… On to lesson 3.

Around 30 years ago, I used to attend the Goethe Institut in Germany to learn German from very beginning before I studied in Uni Erlangen. This GermanPod101 course reminds me of the happy and fruitful, efficient learning experience in the Goethe Institut. Now I am using this podcast to review and practice speaking skill (after so many years no chance to talk in German). It works. Thank you very much for your great effort!

Although English is my native language, I’m also fluent in Spanish having learned it at the University and then living in Argentina for several years. I completely understand how hard it can be to learn a new language. I want to say that the GermanPod on-line instruction is the very best that I have seen in the marketplace. The course has an amazing amount of detail and I really liked the way they broke it down from grammar to phonetics to conversation. They do a great job and I would highly recommend their online language course. Also, they are highly ethical and treat their clients “straight-up”. You can trust them not to over-charge your card or any of the other bad practices that crop up with on-line course. All-in-all, there is no need to look further, GermanPod has it all!!!

I became fluent in French, Spanish, Italian and English. However I got this by using the traditional hard way. I am grateful but I had to confess it was painful. Truly, by knowing the method used here is Fantastisch. Now I am learning German quite naturally reading and listening. It is amazing. Thank you for the great job. I am sure I will learn others Languages this way
